硫系玻璃光纤是目前光谱透过范围最宽的一种红外玻璃光纤,它以硫族元素(硫S、硒Se、碲Te)为主要基质,其透过波段覆盖1~6 μm(以S为基质)、1.5~9 μm(以Se为基质)或2~12 μm(以Te为基质),通过特殊的提纯和拉纤工艺制备,损耗可低至0.2 dB/m。硫系红外光纤传像束是在低损耗硫系光纤的基础上,由一组以特定方式排列的光纤堆积而成,通过光纤将红外光学图像直接从一端传输到另一端,不需要光电信号转换过程,配合后端红外热像探测器等使用,可用于强磁场、危险环境、狭窄空间或小孔内物体的热分布的探测、红外成像、激光传输、化学传感、光子探测等领域。
Chalcogenide glass fiber is one of most important infrared (IR) fibers due to its promising properties including transmission in middle and far infrared regions of spectra. Chalcogenide glass fiber is made from a mixture of the chalcogenide elements sulfur, selenium and tellurium. The transmission wavelength is 1~6μm(S-based fiber), 1.5~9μm(Se-based one) and 2~12μm(Te-based one), and the fiber loss is as low as 0.1dB/m through a special purification and fiber-drawing process. The IR fiber bundle is made from a vast amount of chalcogenide glass fibers, which are arranged in a designed way. The IR optical images can be transferred through the IR fiber bundle without the additional optic-electrical signal transformation process. The IR fiber bundle based on chalcogenide glass fiber can be widely used in the fields of thermal imaging, IR optical imaging, IR laser delivery, chemical sensing, photon detection.
